About me

My love of movement started at the age of 3, creating silly dances to entertain my younger brother. This is my first clear memory of moving in a way which gave me joy and made others feel good too.

As an adult I discovered circus and found my calling. I was especially drawn to aerial rope with its mix of strength, grace and raw physical expression. I love performing aerial. For me, moving in the air creates a magical and intimate space in which what is shared between myself, and the audience is both very real and at the same time other worldly.

In search for my love of moving I have explored Butoh dance, Qi gong, 5 Rhythms, yoga, authentic movement, contact dance and a range of somatic practices. All these have influenced my approach to aerial, movement and bodywork.

I discovered Shiatsu around the age of 30, through a need for support for my personal and professional life. Having experienced a burn out and chronic fatigue, I realised I need to make some changes to the way I live, practise aerial circus and create work.

By the end of my first session my heart had already decided that I would train in Shiatsu.

I studied Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University receiving a First-Class BA Honors and later trained in Circus and Physical Theatre at Circomedia, Bristol. I have an MA in Choreography (NPP Circus) from KTH in Stockholm, over 17 years’ experience of working in the circus industry as a performer and teacher, and my show “Two Legged Animal” received a VOLT award for innovation in 2015. I trained at Bristol School of Shiatsu, graduating with an MSC in 2022. I attend regular masterclasses and post graduate courses to keep my skills fresh.
